Understanding the Strategy Behind Our 90-Day Boycotts

Welcome to the "Let Them Eat Cereal" movement's strategic approach to fostering change within some of the largest corporations in the world. Our mission is rooted in the belief that through targeted, collective action, we can encourage companies to adopt more ethical, sustainable, and consumer-friendly practices. Here's why we've chosen a 90-day boycott cycle for each company, followed by a plan to reassess and potentially extend these efforts.

Why 90 Days?

Time for Reflection and Response: Ninety days provide a window for these corporations to notice the impact of our collective action, reflect on our concerns, and start outlining possible changes. Change, especially within large organizations, requires time to implement. This period allows companies the opportunity to engage with us, their consumer base, and demonstrate their willingness to adapt.

Measuring Impact: A 90-day cycle also enables us to gauge the effectiveness of our boycotts. By analyzing changes in company practices, consumer sentiment, and financial indicators, we can assess whether our actions are creating the desired impact.

Maintaining Momentum: Shorter, focused boycotts help keep our community engaged and prevent fatigue. It ensures our actions remain dynamic and responsive to the evolving landscape of corporate responsibility.

Our Boycott Schedule

Our movement has carefully selected key dates to initiate boycotts against specific companies, providing them with clear timelines and our expectations for change. Here is our planned schedule:

  • April 1, 2024: Kellogg's

  • July 1, 2024 Nestlé

  • October 1, 2024: Coca-Cola

  • January 1, 2025: Pepsi

  • April 1, 2025: TBD (don’t forget to vote)

  • July 1, 2025: Exxon?

  • October 1, 2025: TBD

  • January 1, 2025: TBD

Plan for Extended Boycotts Starting in 2025

Should these companies fail to meet our demands for change, we are prepared to initiate extended boycotts. Our commitment is to hold these corporations accountable over the long term, and we are ready to sustain our efforts for as long as necessary. The extended boycott schedule is as follows:

  • April 1, 2025: Kellogg's (Extended)

  • July 1, 2025: Nestlé (Extended)

  • October 1, 2025: Coca-Cola (Extended)

We will remain on these boycotts, maintaining pressure and visibility on these issues, for as long as it takes to see real, substantive changes.
